Putting The LBC Back on the Map on November 21st

When rap super star Snoop Dogg tells fan his newest album is going to be a classic, how does one label something new as classic? Possibly it’s Snoop Dogg’s return to his original Long Beach sound that highlights the gritty gansta hood realness that shaped Snoop into a cultural icon.

Tha Blue Carpet Treatment due in stores November 21st reunites one of the best known rap duos, Snoop and Dr. Dre.  The three tracks from this pair represent a five year gap in collaboration, a painful amount of time for loyal fans waiting faithfully for a momentous reunion. Dre brings his signature piano riff along with vocals by D’Angleo, who has been on his own hiatus for six years. These two are not the only collaborators on the album, but also Jamie Foxx lends his vocals on the track “Psst.” If this isn’t enough to satisfy the Snoop fan there is also a double collaboration with Akon with “Boss’s Life” and the already smash hit “I Wanna Love You.”  Snoop says,” Tha Blue Carpet Treatment is my presentation to the world on what it means to be the King of the West Coast.”

“That’s That” the second single featuring B-Real is what Snoop calls, “music for a classy gansta party.” In the video, premiering on MTV Prime Time November 7th, Snoop and R. Kelly breaks out the three-piece suites and shows us some gangsta class.

If all of this is not enough Snoop is taking a stab at being Willy Wanka. Inside nine of Tha Blue Carpet Treatment CD’s will be winning tickets which entitles the lucky winner a diamond Ice link watch. One grand prize winner will win a diamond Ice Link watch worth $100,000, three winners will receive watches worth $10,000 and five winners will receive watches worth $5,000, not a bad incentive to buy the album by any means.

If the album, diamond Ice link watches and the various  collaborators on Tha Blue Carpet Treatment doesn’t full fill your Snoop itch stop by to your local book store and pick up Snoops first book, “Love Don’t Live Here No More.” The story is loosely based on Snoops life and his trials and tribulations on the streets. Playwright, David E. Talbert co-authors the book and is the first in a series of novels called Doggy Tales, which gives reader an insiders view of the streets of Long Beach to the long hard road of making it big in the music industry.
