As a mother of twins, I am often the part of the conversation about double strollers. The one that always hits the top of the list is the Valco Runabout Tri-Mode Twin Stroller. This is a stroller initially famed by the pink/blue version that Julia Roberts owned with her twins.
They have vastly improved the model designed for her, and let me tell you, there really is no question which stroller is the best, now that we have tried the
Valco Runabout Tri-Mode Twin Stroller!
For those experienced with double strollers, you know that all newer models are made as narrow as a wheelchair, so that they fit through all doorways. Well this stroller somehow is the narrowest and still leaves comfort for your babies! Our twins are 32 pounds and 21 pounds and both babies are incredibly comfortable in this stroller. As a matter of fact the stroller already passed the nap test with Jack this morning. He passed out and transitioned beautifully from the stroller to his crib (you all know what a feat that is!)
Storage. Let's talk storage. This stroller has a massive underside basket, side pockets on either side of the seat, and additional pockets on the back of each seat, which are removable too, so that there is a ventilation system for breeze flow. What do you do with these once they are removed? Easy! They come with straps to attach to the handles!
Handlebar and Front Bar. The handlebar is adjustable in countless degrees, which makes for ease of use up hills, down hills, or around the block. The front bar is also adjustable too.
Seats. The seats recline beautifully to almost completely upright and 100% reclined. None of our other double strollers assists our children to sit so upright. With cushioned headrests for infants and padding on the harness, these seats are incredibly comfortable.
Wheels. Valco's Tri-Mode system is very convenient. The wheels can swivel 360 degrees, lock straight, or swivel 45 degrees. And the dials to adjust that are convenient and easy to use. The wheels also pop off with the push of a button for long-term storage. Very handy. When unpacking the stroller the first thing I noticed were the wheels. They are wonderfully thick and clearly offer great traction and maneuverability.
Ride. This stroller rides beautifully. The shock system is clearly top notch. We really worked it for our first walk and the stroller remained smooth and calm.
Hoods. The separate hoods are really wonderful. Our son Jack like to have his canopy up, while our daughter Ella likes to be more in the shade as she is more light sensitive. This way we avoid any fights! Who doesn't love that?
Folding. This stroller is AMAZING for jogging, going for walks, etc. You can see it here in the back of a mini-van - leaves plenty of room for groceries, etc.
Availability. One downside to this stroller is that it isn't readily available in stores. Most stores will special order it for you. This isn't a convenience for the impulse shopper, but it is certainly worth the wait, trust me! There are some beautiful colors available too. It's well worth looking into.
Price. The pricepoint on this stroller is very high. But once you have it in your posession you won't complain about it. This stroller is not only a jogging stroller but an everyday stroller as well. There is no need for any other stroller if you have the Valco in your home.
