It may have been his final High School basketball game, but for phenom LeBron James, it certainly was not the last time you will see him on the floor of the MCI Center, but will be it sooner or later you will see him again remains unanswered.
James who scored a game high 34 points for the Black team and was also named MVP of the tournament even though his team lost 107-102 to the Silver team led by Shannon Brown.
The 6-3 guard on his way to Michigan State next season, paced the Silver team with 27 points and eight assists and earned Co-MVP honors thanks to James, who said that Brown's effort was deserving of the trophy as well.
Not only did the fans in attendance pack the MCI Center to capacity to see some of tomorrow stars, it was King James that brought out the big names tonight. Not only did Air Jordan watch the game, but the game brought out a NCAA National Champion in Carmello Anthony from Syracuse, Film Director and Actor Spike Lee, Tampa Bay's Warren Sapp and Patrick Ewing. That's just a few names to begin what was a night to watch one of the best players to hit the courts at the High School level in a long time.
For the Black team, All-Met Player of the Year Linas Kleiza (Montrose Christian) scored 16 points and had 10 rebounds and Duke recruit Kris Humphries added 16 points and 12 rebounds. Pacing the Silver team were Brown and guard Chris Paul, a Wake Forest recruit who shot 8 of 11 for 18 points and had five assists.
In the game that proceeded James' show on the court fans had a chance to see some of the local stars and one that is sure to have Georgetown fans back on their feet is the 6 foot guard Matt Causey from Liburn, Georgia, who looked more like Steve Nash tonight as he entered college, hair and all. His teammate from tonight, Darian Townes, will also be joining him as Hoya recruit for next season.
