Cleveland, OH--
This afternoon the Washington Wizards saw a much different LeBron James than they saw last week. Today he was the LeBron that many expected him to be controlling the game finding ways to assist and score. James led the way for the Cavs with 32 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, some of the assists you would expect in an All-Star game, but what else can you expect from an All Star?
The Wizards biggest difference in this game from the one last week... scoring. They faltered heavily in the first quarter hitting just 40.9 percent on 9 for 22 from the field and a very un-noteworthy 1 for 5 from long distance.
Caron Butler who has been the spark for the Wizards over the past few games also added to the Wizards woes in the first quarter with a horrible 1 for 7 from the field.
Gilbert Arenas again led Washington as he has in many games this season with 26 points. Problem of the night for the Wizards with those numbers? He had most of his points in the game when it did not really matter, 17 in the fourth quarter when the Cavs were already up by double digits.
Arenas fouled out with 49.4 seconds left when he hacked Snow, who used his thumb to show Washington's guard the way back to the bench.
Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Flip Murray scored 10 points each for the Cavs, who shot 44 percent (38-of-87), held a 52-36 rebounding advantage and committed just 10 turnovers. Game Two is here Tuesday.
"We will take it easy and try to rebound tomorrow," said Wizards Head Coach Eddie Jordan. "Today was an afternoon game so we will have time to relax tomorrow and prepare for Tuesday night."
