After reviewing the Palm Restaurant in Dallas several months ago, our staff decided that it would be a good time for us to find out why the Palm Las Vegas has become the place to go for the best steak in Las Vegas, okay lobster too.
Just like the Palm in Dallas, the restaurant and its tradition just spells elegance in its name. When our staff walked through the doors, again were treated like each and every patron is when they come to any Palm, like royalty. While you don’t have to be the highest roller in Vegas to have a high rollers dinner, you certainly will want to spend some of those winnings on this winning dining experience.
Unlike some of the other Palm restaurants, the Las Vegas location expands its doors onto a patio dining experience inside shopping Mecca of the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. While you are dining the skies on the ceiling will change from day to night and the noise from the slot machines across the way, will offer another award winning experience of its own. This option opens the Palm’s doors to the world of Vegas and lets patrons enjoy the same dining experience found in the Forum Shops area, while still retaining the Palm's exclusivity.
Whether you choose to dine on the patio or inside , the service that you will receive from the Palms is impeccable. It would be tough to match this service and this quality anywhere in Vegas.
Once again patrons should be expected to be surrounded by the packed restaurant and all of the interesting characters on the walls of restaurant. Just like the Palm in Dallas, or any of the other Palm Restaurants everything on the walls is unique to the Vegas area. You will see some of the most famous people to visit Vegas on the walls to some of the pioneers that made this city what it is today. Okay, enough about the décor; we admit, the environment and the great food makes the place famous.
After looking around the restaurant or even having a quick drink at the bar, many will be anxious to sit down, but in the mean time check out the big game on their flat screen plasma television.
When the menu is placed on the table by the staff in their white tailored uniforms, then comes the challenge at the Palm, what to choose from on their vast menu. While the Palm is known for their huge steaks and enormous lobsters, no one will go wrong with any selection from their menu.
Once again we started with a couple selections from the appetizers menu which included the Crab Cakes and the Tomato Capri with Fresh Basil, Virgin Olive Oil and Mozzarella. These are some of the signature items from the appetizer and salad section of menu at the Palm and they are something that you cannot live without. The beefsteak tomatoes and huge hunks of fresh mozzarella are consistent with what we saw in our last review and they certainly keep you coming back for more.
For one of our entrée selections we opted for the recommendation of our server to take the special of the night, the Oscar Steak, which included not only an enormous cut of the Primest Black Angus Steak found West of Texas, but it included a huge proportion of lump back fin crab meat and asparagus on top of the steak, and finished with the Palms signature sauce. If you are like our staff, you will not want to share any part of this steak with your dining party, but there is enough beef for two in case your feeling generous.
Our next experience came from the Palm’s Bone In Rib Eye Steak. Before we even cut into the steak we knew it was going to be good just by the size of the steak when it hit the table. When we sliced the steak off of the bone it was perfectly cooked to order and so lean we almost mistook the beef for the butter we had on the plate next to it.
As always, your experience at the Palm is not complete until you have chosen from their dessert tray. Since the tray is full of what we call irrestistables, we decided to take a dive into their fresh berries and their homemade cheesecake selections, either way you won’t go wrong with any of the desert options from the Palm. In the bowl of berries below the huge mound of whipped cream was a perfect representation of sweet and tart all in one.
Before you leave, the staff at the Palm will continue with their prompt service, which is guaranteed to keep you coming back time after time, that is if you haven’t lost all of your dining money at the tables or the slot machines inside of the vast Caesars Palace.
So no matter what you choose from the menu, it is just another winning evening from the Palm that you can expect. One thing our staff recommends with the Palm's outstanding selection, impeccable service and the Palm's great location call ahead and make a reservation before showing up.
