Our staff was treated to one of the true wonders of the free world, the Hard Rock Café inside the Rogers Centre; this legendary restaurant comes complete with a view of the events taking place inside The Rogers Center, which was formally known as The Skydome.
The Operations Manager Shadi Kandalaft greeted us, along with our server Jeremy, who has worked at the HRC for 6 years. Jeremy explained how HRC purchased some of its fine memorabilia, which adorns the walls of the restaurant. HRC receive some of its memorabilia through auctions, donations by the artist, and they also purchase some items directly from the artist.
Jeremy continued his excellent service with an explanation to our questions regarding the HRC pin collection, which now is a world wide activity with thousands of members transcending through many age groups. These global members exchange HRC pins with other HRC members in what Jeremy considered more a of a challenging competition.
As you enter The Hard Rock Cafe you have a stunning view of one of the true gems of the world, The Rogers Center, a complete arena where they hold several events of all types. While we were at The HRC the field was being set up for Argonauts football.
At this Hard Rock Cafe location you get the best of both worlds, while enjoying your meal you can view any event-taking place at The Rogers Center, for a modest fee.
Jeremy suggested we try a true HRC original drink, the Hurricane that has a rumbling blend of orange, mango, and Dole pineapple juice, infused with Bacardi Rum, Bacardi Select Rum, Disaronno Amaretto and Grenadine garnished with an orange wedge and a maraschino cherry.
After drinking The Hurricane you felt like you were in a Hurricane as this was a mighty potent and great tasting drink.
We started our meals with appetizers; we tried a new item on their menu “ Wings Around The World” consisting of a dozen chicken wings tossed in three different world-class sauces: a spicy “Moroccan” sauce, an “Asian-sesame sauce and our classic wing sauce. For you spice lovers this indeed is the dish for you.
We then sampled the Tuscan Chicken Salad the ingredients were grilled chicken tossed with mesclum mixed greens, roasted red peppers and mushrooms, grilled asparagus, provolone cheese, salami and shaved Parmesan cheese in red wine vinaigrette. This salad was so fresh the lettuces crunched with every bite. This dish was nicely presented to our delight.
Again from the new menu we tried The Legendary 10 oz Burger: Famous the world over: ten ounces of fresh, lightly seasoned beef, topped with bacon, two slices of cheese and fried onion rings. Served on a freshly toasted bun made with real Guinness. This burger is a handful to tackle, the beef is moist with plenty of flavor and the bun with the addition of Guinness embedded in the bun gave you a nice touch to the burger.
HRC's mission statement is to “Love All Serve All” and we can say that our experience at The Hard Rock Café Toronto was a mission accomplished. Our hats off to the Kitchen Manager Tim Gallagher and his staff for a great meal that was well prepared. When in Toronto don’t miss this great opportunity to get the best of worlds, a great meal, a fabulous view, and great service.
