On a day when many people wouldn’t venture out of their houses, 10,857 fans found a way to make it to the Verizon Center to see the Hoyas weather a strong Wildcat team and pull off their second straight upset on a Saturday in the snow.

The Hoyas were led by Austin Freeman’s 25 points, Jason Clark had 24, and Georgetown (No. 8 ESPN/USA Today, No. 7 AP) forced 16 first-half turnovers in a 103-90 victory that ended No. 2 Villanova's 11-game winning streak and ruined the Wildcats' perfect Big East record.

The Hoyas had full control of the game from the opening tip and had a strong finish before the half. They opened their biggest lead of the day 50-27 when Austin Freeman hit a lay-up with 1:43 remaining.

Villanova made a push late in the second half and had the game as close at it would come all afternoon at 79-68 when Dominc Cheek threw down a dunk off a Scottie Reynolds assist.  

"That was not one of our better performances, but you've got to give Georgetown most of the credit. They jumped on us," Wildcats coach Jay Wright said. "I think just getting down like that early here and playing that team from behind is really difficult to do."

Villanova was led by Scottie Reynolds and Corey Reynolds who scored 24 points each.
