Where to begin, where to begin. I could start by telling you that Nickelback is arguably the best new rock band on the scene right now, but unless you live under a rock, you already know that. I could say that Nickelback is sure to have the number one rock record in the nation while you’re reading this but you probably already knew that one too. What you do not know, however, is that Nickelback’s
All the Right Reasons rocks so hard that it has my clothes falling off every time it’s played.
Leading off with the track “Follow You Home,” Nickelback gets the show started with a bang and some hellacious guitar playing by Chad Kroeger and Ryan Peake. The power ballad of the album, “Photograph,” will have any thoughts Def Leppard’s hit left in the dust and quickly forgotten. “Photograph” is that song to which we can all identify and remember our pasts while listening to Chad Kroger’s mystifying vocals.
“Far Away” is the hidden jewel of
All the Right Reasons as the kick ass rockers shed their sex, drugs and rock and roll image for a minute to give us a glimpse into the heart and soul of a passionate man. (FYI: the album’s lyrics were written by Chad Kroeger.)
Not to be forgotten is the fourth track off the album, “Animals” which has listeners thinking about their favorite sexual trists while listening to the percussion perfection currently named Daniel Adair. Wow, he’s hot, too, and who could forget Mike Kroeger who is making the bass the hottest instrument there is on stage.
With “Rockstar” the album ends on a comical note and the Canadian boys of Nickelback are quickly finding their way into our American hearts.
Go out and buy this album even if you do not buy another album for the next ten years, this one is worth every penny of its $20 price tag.
