Towson, MD--
If you look in the Webster's dictionary for the meaning of Hinder you will find a verb with three meanings after it. 1. To be or get in the way of. 2. To Obstruct or delay the progress of. 3. To interfere with action or progress. If you check out Hinder on the Girls Gone Wild Rock America Tour, you will see why this band from Oklahoma City is "Hinder"ing everyone in their way and taking plenty of names along the way.
It did not take long for the Recther Theatre to light up once one of the hottest rock acts hit the stage this past weekend in Towson. On the heels of the release of Extreme Behavior, this band has the fans coming out by the thousands, not to see the in between sets acts of Girls Gone Wild, but to hear them blow the roof off with songs like "Get Stoned," which is getting spun at least 20 times a day in some markets like Baltimore, Dallas and Vancouver.
So many of our readers will want to know what makes this a must see show this Spring? Well simply put, they just rock! They don't care about who commercializes them, they care about putting on a great show and having fun along the way. Perhaps Hinder's drummer Cody Hanson put it the best way about the band and what fans should expect from the show.
"We didn't want to be just another faceless rock band playing depressing ' I hate my dad' music. We wanted to go out there and kick ass like they did in the 80's. They are sending a message to those looking for a great rock show... here we are!
By the time Hinder hit on some of their now favorites off the Extreme Behavior album like "Room 21" which is about a one night stand and "Bliss" they had made some new fans. All of their songs on this album are part of their 1 hour and 10 minute show, which even included a cover song by ZZ Top, "Sharp Dressed Man."
As the show winded down, the fans emotion for Hinder did not. They could not wait for Hinder to play "Get Stoned." They had each fan singing along and when Austin turned it over to the crowd to help him with the song, there wasn't anyone who did not know the lyrics or didn't want to go home and make the lyrics a reality. They certainly make guys and girls go wild to some of the best rock music to come out of Oklahoma City. Look for this band to go a long way and to be touring with some other major acts later this summer.
Just when you thought the success of the band would keep them from having a good time after the show, just ask their fans, they are one of the few that still cares about fans and were found at the front of the theatres signing autographs and saying hello to fans. This is the most enjoyable part of the show according to the band in our interview prior the show.
If there is one thing you will take from what Cody, Blower, Mike, Mark and Austin, deliver to their fans, it is that rock and roll is fun again. This is a flashback to the 80's for any of their fans that might have been too young to see the Motley Crue's and Poison's when they had fun at shows too.
While most fans came to see Hinder tonight, Hinder has two other co-headliners on this tour, Relevation Thoery and FAKTION. Both pack a great rock punch as well. While their music is a bit harder rock than Hinder, they still add a nice mix to this tour.
