Las Vegas, NV—

Finally… That is all we can say after this week the gazillion dollar City Center started opening its doors to the public and none more highly anticipated than Crystals, the largest shopping mall in Nevada. It opened its doors with a VIP celebration at Eva Longoria-Parker’s restaurant BESO that featured some of the movers and shakers of Las Vegas.

Top executives from the MGM-Mirage Group, who finally had the chance to see what they paid for walked the red carpet along with Planet Hollywood Peep Show host Holly Madison, Celebrity Chef Todd English and of course Eva herself. We must say that the inside is simply amazing. BESO is one fine restaurant and I guess coming to Vegas and playing those tables as much as I do certainly has its payoffs when it comes to getting inside events like this one.  

The only people missing were Tareq and Micheale Salahi. I was pretty sure I saw their name on the list or maybe that was the group of investors from Dubai that backed out of their financial obligations for the entire City Center project.

For those who did not have the chance to step inside the event tonight, there were plenty of places to spend your money including Louis Vuitton, Tom Ford, BALLY, Nanette Lapore and others that will be opening in 2010 such as Gucci and Versace.

Overall this is one of the coolest pieces of architecture you will find anywhere in Vegas. From the wooden sculptures to the hardwood steps and the angles in the building it is a place to check out. This is more of a mall for those with deep pockets. I don’t see many regular tourists to Vegas doing much more than stopping in for a look.   Since Las Vegas doesn’t have a Zoo, this could be the new place that people call the fashion zoo, a lot of looking and little buying. In fact, how many Gucci’s and Louis Vuitton’s does Las Vegas really need. You can shop in one of what seems like 20 other locations the city has to offer for these stores.
