Washington, DC-- Unlike some of the Hollywood personalities we have spoken to during the past 10 years, Pointed had the chance to speak with Leilene Ondrade or better known as “Smiley” from VH1’s Flavor of Love on her newest television venture Charmed School and what we found was a down to earth totally cool person you would want to meet in person. Ondrade began her modeling and acting career when, while working as a make-up artist, she grew contemptuous towards the attitudes of several models she encountered while working on a photo shoot in the Dominican Republic. She attended the National Ballet School in Toronto, and had a small role in the 1999 film Detroit Rock City. She then relocated to California in the United States of America in order to further her career, where she posed for magazines such as Fit Beauties Magazine, appeared in music videos featuring singers such as Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri, and appeared in two television shows. In 2005, Ondrade took part in a revealing photo shoot for National Lampoon, and participated in the National Lampoon's Strip Poker event, in which she placed second last (fifth). For those who may have missed her on the original VH1 Flavor of Love Season 2, Leilene has made various appearances both on television and film. In 2005 she was asked to appear on WWE’s Raw Diva search which was followed up by a stint on Spike TV’s TNA and their pay-per view specials. She also has been seen in feature films Detroit City, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle and also as Dennis Rodman’s dream girl in Bad As I Wanna Be.. She has a role in the movie Hotel California where she plays Wendy Hung. This is scheduled to be released in 2008. If you have seen this sexy girl in some of the above features, then you will love hearing more about what she has going on off the television and off the big screen.   PM:  Tell us about Charmed School, What can we expect from good old “Smiley"? LO: Well first of all it is great to be working with the people at VH1 again and Monique is a great person to work with. It is going to be a lot of fun for people to see me again and to do something completely different. Fans who liked my emotional side in Flavor of Love will have a chance to see more of my emotions run wild in Charm School

PM: What’s next in line for Leilene? Do you plan on going more mainstream in television or do you plan on focusing on movies?

LO: Well, I would like to do a little of both. I would like to host a television show. I have always wanted to do something like that. I admire the works of people like Lucy Liu and would love to be more like her. She has been a good role model for me to follow. I look at these reality shows to help me to get background in different areas.

PM: Is acting intimidating?

LO: Laughing…. Yes, it certainly can be. You can’t be too sensitive in this industry and realize the harder that you work the more you will be rewarded. There are not too many free gifts when it comes to acting. Acting can also help conquer fears. I have learned a lot by coming to Hollywood.

PM: Is There a Downside to Hollywood?

LO:  Yes.. I would say mine is that the people who live in Hollywood definitely get caught up in a lot of nonsense. I can’t live in Hollywood and getting away from it all and seeing my children is the best thing I can look forward to everyday. It is a huge downfall for a lot of people trying to make it in the business. It can be very pretentious and a lot people forget that you do not need to attend every red carpet party that Hollywood offers and hang out in the clubs to 5am every night. It catches up to those people really quick and what was once a dream can turn into a nightmare overnight if you are not careful.

PM:  You Have Been in Hollywood for Three and half years now… What has been your biggest purchase since you broke into the business?

LO:  Well I haven’t really gotten anything major… really I am saving for an RV… It would be so nice to travel across the country and see so many different places. I am a big fan of the Travel Channel and would love to see some of these places that are really serene and you can only see by road. It would also be a great way to spend time with my three kids.

PM:  What’s a Typical Day for Leilene?

LO:  Well I am the Google Queen… I usually get up check my email.. talk to my agent and publicist and see where I am needed. I love staying in touch with people and make sure I stay on top of what is going on… I like spending my time shopping at Whole Foods. I also try and hit the gym when time allows. Oh yea, if you didn’t already know this about me I am a geek at heart and love military strategy video games.

PM:  So What is Your Favorite Place to Hang Out?

LO:   I love the beach areas. Hermosa and Manhattan Beach are great areas for me to go and relax and get away from all that Hollywood puts me through. I love staying busy and I like knowing in a matter of minutes I can venture out to one of the most pristine areas California has to offer.
