Once again, our staff at Pointed Magazine is dedicated to bringing its readers the hottest products for 2006.The staff at Pointed Magazine have reviewed all types of products in the past but here’s a new one for you.
When we first heard about the MENSGROOM products, our staff sort of shrugged our shoulders and responded with not another so called better for you body product. Once we tried the MENSGROOM products we were able to say that there is finally someone who knows what men want behind the washroom door.
According to MENSGROOM Founder and President Gerd Schwarzkopf, most men want to look and feel good, but they do not want to try hard to get there. “With a broad assortment of products within the collection and simple directions communicated through cartoons and witty one-liners, guys can now address all their grooming needs with a one stop shop.”
Certainly Schwarzkopf knows the products as he has a vast background with personal products that dates way back to 1968 when he acquired the rights to market Nina Ricci perfumes in Canada. He has used his experience and applied it to products that are truly for men.
So after we had a brief introduction to the products from both Gerd and Cherry Robinson Director of Marketing for Men’s Groom, we decided to give them a try for ourselves.
If you have been reading our product review articles, you will know that we strive to find the highest end products that consumers can purchase and the MENSGROOM products not only have a great price point, but they actually do what they say.
Our first product we tried was Daily Washout, or what we now call a shampoo with an attitude. Upon rubbing this through your scalp and through you hair the feeling of clean hair starts just minutes after application. It gives a whole new meaning to clean hair. We felt like washing our hair for 20 minutes and the ladies will smell the clean from a mile away. It must be the cool little cartoon character that makes it even better. This is a mild formula for everyday use. The washout contains birch sap and a hair moisture complex that provides body and luster, moisture, manageability and overall hair and scalp health.
After you have washed your hair, everyone knows you need to condition it right. For those with a nice thick head of hair, this is your conditioner. Even my barber had to ask me twice in the past month what I had done to my hair. The Daily Do Right does exactly what the name says, do your hair right.
The Daily Do Right conditioner contains birch sap and a powerful vegetable derived hair-strengthening complex known as Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol. The complex dramatically improves the strength of damaged hair through the following process. Its low molecular weight components penetrate the cortex and plasticize the hair by moisturizing from within, and the high molecular weight components form a film on the hair shaft that lubricates and reinforces the cuticle. These properties combine to strengthen the hair. If you like a product that washes right out, then this is it.
For those who like clean hair and then want something that goes on the face just as easy and washes off leaving the face as smooth as a baby’s butt, then you need to try the Scrubbed the Right Way. It comes in a small 3.4 ounce tube which like our staff liked the most and men on the run. It was just enough to get us pass TSA’s new carry-on security laws.
Each squeeze of this unique facial scrub uses Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree Leaf Powder) for its gentle exfoliating action. This gentle exfoliating action improves the appearance of the skin by removing dead cells and cleansing deeply. This powder also contains naturally encapsulated tea tree oil, which is released during exfoliation and reduces redness and minor irritation sometimes caused by the exfoliation process. Aloe vera and mushroom extract are added to soothe, calm and moisturize the skin. Menthol gives a cooling and refreshing feel to the skin. It is a great value for $20.00. You face will feel like a million bucks after a quick morning scrub.
One of the best products that are coming from behind the Washroom Door is the Eye Feel Good Eye cream. Nobody likes those lines that form under the eyes as we get older and if you have seen all the women applying eye cream for years now, it’s your turn to see what you have been missing with this cream.
This eye cream is formulated with a combination of botanical extracts, including a peptide complex extracted from pea seeds. This complex works against the degradation of the skin’s elastin and collagen fibers, helping make it more firm and elastic. Biophytex LS - a botanical extract with Butcherbroom, Horse Chestnut, Marigold, Centella Asiatica and Hydrolyzed Yeast Protein all help to improve micro-circulation around the eyes, decreasing dark circles.
The cream also combines Siberian Ginseng, rich in polysaccharides, which noticeably reduces the appearance of fine lines in the “crow’s feet” area of the face. Mushroom Extract, rich in various vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes, is also used to improve skin hydration and firmness.
If you are guy that cares about that great looking body, MENSGROOM has a product that is well worth using after that trip to the gym. We tried the Sore No More and the results almost put us to sleep we were so relaxed after applying it to our skin.
The Sore No More contains aloe vera extract to soothe, calm and moisturize. Also used in the cream is mushroom extract, an ingredient rich in vitamins and minerals, to improve skin hydration and firmness. Menthol and Menthyl Lactate are added to cool and refresh the skin.
With all of the products we sampled on all parts of our body, the clearly possess a lot of ingredients that other men’s products just seem to miss. With each application of the MENSGROOM, you could feel the vibrancy that was restored to the head after the shampoo and conditioner combination and as far as a smooth shave, MENSGROOM knows what a baby’s bottom feels like and now you will too after you shave. The women will love the results of this shave for sure.
