Fairfax, VA --
After a disappointing night for the Glory last night against Venezuela, the Glory returned to their winning ways with a 11-0 rout.
Tonight's game was key for the Glory as they would split the series with a tough Venezuelan team after they took two games from them during the four game set, but at the end of the night it would help them take first place in the NPF standings as the Akron Racers were defeated by the Rockford Thunder.
The Glory got the evening started early much like the Venezuelan team did last night, behind the bats of Sara Larquier and Jessica Moore, who both homered back to back in the fourth inning. Moore would finish the night with going 3 for 3 at the plate.
Desiree Serrano again continued to muscle the opposing teams hitters, pitching a three hit shutout and improving to 7-2 on the year. Sarah Pauly entered the game in relief in the fifth inning for Serrano redeeming herself from last nights performance allowing just one hit in two innings.
Washington now leads the league with a 12-4 record and has its toughest challenge of the season when Akron comes to town next weekend for a four game set starting Friday at 7:05pm.
