Desiree Serrano and the Washington Glory Shut the Door on Akron, Maintain League Lead

When you have one of the most dangerous pitching squads you will quickly find out how hard it is to even get one victory in a four game series, just ask the Akron Racers, who managed just one victory in a four game series with the Glory closing out another series behind Desiree Serrano, 3-2 over the Racers.
Serrano, who improved to 8-3 took the game on the line into the seventh inning and forced one of the Racers best players, Iyhia McMichael, into a double play to end the game.
Akron who sent Jamee Jaurez to the mound for the second time in the series, got both their strong outing on the mound and off the bat helping them to a 2-1 lead going into the fourth inning.
Jaurez would surrender a home run in the fourth and then load the bases for Glory infielder Nichole Thompson, who blasted a hit that sent Nicole Barber home giving Serrano all she would need to put another victory in the books.
The Glory have a couple days off prior to a four game set facing Michigan starting Thursday July 5th at 7:05pm
