When Monica Abbott joined the Washington Glory everyone knew that she was going to bring a hard nosed attitude towards winning a championship and again today in the NPFChampionship game she showed that she is the most dominate womens softball player, if not one of the most dominate female professional athletes.

Abbott held the Thunder hitters in check the first five innings and didn't allow a run. Abbott gave way to Desiree Serrano who struggled last night, but recovered to pitch a strong sixth inning.

Serrano did get into one jam when she loaded the bases after consecutive hits by Jackie Wong and Kristen Zaleski and a free pass to catcher Mackenzie Vandergeest. Kim Wendland was next and hit a high fly ball to second base to end the threat.

Sarah Pauly, who also pitched last night shut down the Thunder in the top of the seventh to give the Glory their first ever NPF Championship.

After the game Abbott was named the NPF Championship Series Most Valuable Player.
