The Indianapolis Colts pounded the Baltimore Ravens 44-20 at M&T Bank Stadium Sunday night. The Colts had three first quarter touchdowns, including a Joseph Addai one-yard touchdown run and a nineteen-yard TD reception from Peyton Manning.
A safety on a punt block extended Indy's lead to 23-0 before the end of the first quarter. Baltimore got on the board with a Yamon Figurs ninety-four yard kick-off return for a touchdown. That would be the only points the Ravens would score in the first half.
At the intermission Indy lead the Ravens 37-7. Manning went back to the air on his first drive of the second half. He connected with Anthony Gonzalez for a forty-one yard TD pass, the second connection of the night between the two, to extent the Colts' lead to 44-7.
Baltimore's first offensive touchdown of the night came at the start of the fourth quarter on a Kyle Boller four-yard TD pass to Devard Darling. The two-point conversion was picked off, leaving the score Indy 44 Ravens 13.
2006 Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith relieved Boller and ran in a six-yard TD rush to bring the score to 44-20, and that is how it would end. For the Colts, QB Peyton Manning was 13 of 17 in just over two quarters of work for 249 yards and 4 TDs. Baltimore's Kyle Boller was 19 of 25 for 132 yards, 1 TD and 3 INTs.
