For those who believe that the tortoise wins the race might just have been firm believers that the run that USF started tonight's game with would most certainly not last... Well those believers were right as the Hoyas emerged with a second half vengeance and sent the USF Bulls packing, 63-53, to improve to 19-2 on the season and 9-1 in the Big East.

Perhaps the worst thing that could have happened to Georgetown tonight was they shot a season-low 39.3 percent against the Bulls (10-13, 1-9). If this was Villanova or even Louisville who they face on Saturday night they might have very well let this game slip away from them.

Sophomore forward DaJuan Summers led the Way for the Hoyas with a career-high 24 points and senior center Roy Hibbert (13 points) were a combined 13 of 22 from the field; their teammates were 9 of 34 (26.5 percent).

Georgetown made some critical errors in the first 10 minutes of the first half allowing the Bulls to jump out to the quick start. These errors John Thompson III acknowledged after the game.

"Our decision-making was a stumbling block," said Thompson. "When we make the extra pass, we throw it to the next person, we're hard to guard. I think we were cutting things a little short early."

The turning point in tonight's game for the Hoyas came with With 8:04 remaining in the first half, when USF held a 22-13 lead and was shooting 76.9 percent (10 for 13), didn't score again until the final minute of the half.

"Winning is important. Winning is good. You guys can talk about good win, bad win, ugly win," Georgetown coach John Thompson III told reporters. "We win. We have to learn and we have to grow from it."

Dominique Jones scored 15 points to lead the Bulls who have lost nine straight.

"I think even though we're not seeing the 'W' behind the games, I think we see a team that isn't disconcerted," USF coach Stan Heath said.
