At the end of today's game no one will ever tell Stephen Curry that they will never make it anywhere in the sea of big school teams in the NCAA Tournament after his 30 point effort lifted the Wildcats into the Sweet 16 over the Georgetown Hoyas, 74-70.

Curry who looked flustered by the Hoyas defense in the first half missed 10 of his first 12 shots, but stepped up huge in the final eight minutes for Davidson, which trailed by 16 points with 15 minutes left.

"I can't say enough about Curry today and how he comes out every game and plays with everything he has," said Davidson Head Coach Bob McKillop.

Curry gave the Wildcats the momentum they needed with the go-ahead basket with 4:40 remaining and then hit a huge 3-pointer with 2:56 remaining. He then hit five of six free throws in the final 23 seconds of the game.

"I feel like I let these guys down today, said Hoyas Head Coach John Thompson III. We have a great Senior class and we have made it so far and to have this be the result is a little bit disappointing."

The other big part of the storyline was the ending of Senior Roy Hibbert's career at Georgetown... one he would rather forget with just 6 points and one rebound in just 16 minutes of action.

The Hoyas also came up short at the free throw stripe as well shooting 8 for 17, meanwhile Davidson hit on 24 for 30 for 80 percent. Not a major difference in the final outcome, but it did help the Wildcats build a 7 point lead with 16 seconds remaining.

Davidson, which hadn't won an NCAA tournament game since 1969 before Friday, advanced to face Wisconsin on Friday in Detroit.
