Washington, DC--
When you have to work as hard as the Orlando Magic did tonight for their sixth victory in seven games you might as well say it was as rough night for Dwight Superman Howard right? Well tough night might be a statement as he hard to work hard to deliver a knockout blow ot the Wizards finishing with 18 points, 13 rebounds, a career-high seven assists and five blocks.
"Well, sometimes during the game, the super heroes tend to lose their focus, and I kind of lost mine tonight, got a tech," Howard said, "but I tried to regather myself and finish the game."
Washington... Well where do we start? We can start with the fact that Orlando just plain played them hard tonight enough that two-time All-Star Caron Butler sat out the second half with a tight hamstring. And reserve forward Andray Blatche left in the second half with a bum ankle.
Again Antawn Jamison led the way for the Wizards with a season high 36 points 6 rebounds and 2 assists and he did that without the help of his number two scoring man.
In the absence of Butler, Nick Young stepped up and hit a big jumper with a just under 7:00 remaining helping the Wizards to within one. The Wiz kept it close and had it within reach with the he Magic up just by two ,99-97, with 3:30 minutes remaining . Orlando's answer, Rashard Lewis's 3 three pointer giving the Magic a little bit of what they needed.
Young came up big again with 2:47 remaining when he hit a 19 foot jumper pulling the Wizards within three at 102-99.
While the Wiz took their shots at Superman, his strength out did them late in final minute when Howard hit a four foot hook shot and two free throws from the line securing the victory.
