Do you remember the time as a child when you treasured taking that trip to Grandma's house? Well if you do, then we have found a place that will bring back that feeling of a trip to Grandma's on your next trip to Nashville.
We realize that any time you travel there are many options for a finding a good place to stay, a place that you can enjoy and feel comfortable is not always the easiest place to find. Whenever your plans call for a trip to the Nashville area, we highly reccommend the Hillsboro House Bed and Breakfast, which will certainly make you feel more than at home once you settle in. The Southern Hospitality will also rub off a bit during your stay.
Located in the quaint historic area of Belmont Hillsboro, and just two miles to all of the downtown Music City attractions, Vanderbilt University and Music Row, the coziness of this Bed and Breakfast will leave you talking for months to come.
As soon as you walk through the doors of this 1904 little yellow Victorian home, the owner and proprietor Andrea Beaudet will greet you with the feeling you received from your grandmother each time you walked through her doors.
The house which was renovated by Beaudet 1990, offers many amenities that you may not have had at Grandma's but you will certainly enjoy having as a part of your stay here.
For starters, once you walk in in front door with the set of keys that Andrea gives you, there will be that feeling of home instantly as you see the couch and the fireplace and a room that is filled with decorations, family pictures and a hand painted picture of Andrea herself. If you like dogs, then Andrea's West Highland Terrier, Bonnie, will be sure to greet you and once again give you the sense of coziness you will not find at your average hotel. There are not even many hotels that accept pets, so with a pet on the premises, bring your dog or cat if you can't leave without them.
Once you have had the time to sit in the living area and begin to settle into the comfort of the Hillsboro House, you will certainly be ready to check out the spacious and more than comfortable rooms.
After you have carried your bags to your room, it is a must to plop yourself down on the queen sized feather beds, which if you are not careful will keep you there until the next morning. They are covered with a nice warm fluffy comforter and down pillows to ensure that your night's sleep will be nothing short of your own bed, if not better than your own bed. In fact Andrea wants every guest to feel like family and so she has gone the extra mile to make them feel special.
Each of the rooms has its own private bathroom and telephone and the rooms are also equipped with cable television and a CD player for those who would like to listen a little music before bed. Upstairs also includes a study and library area which in the afternoon can be a very nice sitting area with the warm sun beaming through the window panes.
Possibly the best feature of the Hillsboro House are Andrea's breakfast clocks. Since Andrea believes in the old method of waking you up in the morning, a wake-up call is not necessary when the smell of the fresh muffins and breakfast emanates upstairs. The smell will send you right out of bed and flocking down to the breakfast table. "It is just a reward to roll out of bed to a smell of a fresh breakfast awaiting you," exclaims Beaudt. " I ask my patrons just to leave me a note on what time they would like to eat in the morning and then they can expect to awake to the smell at that hour.
As you make your way down stairs you can sit at the small table that sits about six people and maybe you will be able to have breakfast with some of the other guests in this very quaint all at the table with strangers. It's a great way to meet the guests and make new friends in the process. From eggs to pancakes and waffles, coffee and orange juice, Andrea brings the meaning to home cooking when it comes to breakfast.
Lastly, we must mention that when the warm weather rolls around, the front porch of the Hillsboro House is like a scene right out of a movie. The swing and the flowers make reading a book and relaxing a summer nights dream.
So, next time you decide to make the Music City part of your travel plans, we highly suggest taking the time to make a weekend or two day minimum reservation during the week to experience a better place to relax and relive the childhood visit to grandmas, the Hillsboro House Bed and Breakfast is just the place to rid those clustered hotel rooms and average breakfasts you will find at many other hotels.
