Imagine theWhether you are traveling to Charleston on business or pleasure, the French Quarter Inn has something for the likes of both and maybe even more than most would expect. While the hotel is nestled inside of the French Quarter and Market area of Charleston and looks small from the outside, but what you will see while walking from the ground floor to the lobby goes way beyond its AAA Four Diamond Rating.
When we first walked into the hotel lobby we did not know what to expect. What we got was more than we expected. Your first class European Hotel experience starts here and will not stop until you check out. They stand behind their quality and their General Manager puts his word on it.
"We have created an environment which surpasses the already high standards of Charleston's finest hotels and inns," said Bernard Visscher, General Manager of the new French Quarter Inn. "This sort of intimate European style inn can be found in San Francisco or New York, but is the first of its kind in Charleston."
Our experience started with a friendly valet attendant greeting us as we pulled into entrance of the hotel, he directed us to the lobby and called for the retrieval of our bags immediately.
When we arrived at the front desk, the staff had our reservations and room keys set aside in order to expedite and ensure a quick and pleasurable check-in process. As you look around the lobby, you will begin to see what the French Quarter has in store for guests.
Upon checking into the hotel, each guest will be given a mini tour of the hotel by the courteous front desk staff, which includes the mention of the candy, tea and milk and cookies in the evening time before bed. Each guest will also be treated to the complimentary lady fingers and champagne upon completing the check in process. How can you beat that kind of personalization.
After sipping on a glass of champagne, we highly recommend taking a few minutes to sit on the patio and enjoy the evening next to the soothing waterfall found on the wall of the patio area, or take a seat in the lounging area of the hotel's lobby and enjoy the plush couches found throughout. You can even take a look up or down from the floors above in their rotunda style opening in the middle of the hotel. The architecture is simply stunning and something other hotels like this one wish they had.
One of the features we liked about the French Quarter Inn is that your service is way beyond personalized, because of the building laws for the area, the FQI l only has 50 rooms, so you tend to get the "I know you treatment," which means you are going to see a lot of the same guests as well as workers from the hotel. At the FQI, your not just another guest strolling through the lobby.
Once in your room, if you make it out of the lobby, what awaits you is one of the most modern and five star quality rooms we have seen anywhere. The space in these rooms is unbelievable. It would take two rooms in other Charleston properties to match what you will find their Deluxe Junior Bedroom Suite, Executive Business Suites or a One Bedroom Suite. These suites completely spacious and offer some of the best views of the French Quarter and Market area of Charleston, they might just make you forget about work.We decided to give the Executive Business Suite a try, as it clearly was designed for travelers like us and what we found inside was amazing. Each of these suites comes equipped with a full work desk, computer with high-speed Internet access, printer, and fax and copier combo, all of which are in a separate room. There was no stuffed in a room feeling with this suite. With the recessed business area, you can separate yourself from anyone else that opts to stay in the room with you. While some people will still want to bring a lap-top with them, this alleviates the annoying task of having to check your email and not having a place to do it at your convenience.
Each one of the Executive Business suites has a king size bed, dresser and television combo with expandable closets and the ceilings, "WOW" they were constructed for the tall guests. All of these features give the room a very spacious feeling. With nightly turndown service, custom made kimonos and Triple Sheeted European Bedding, jumping in bed is something you will look forward to all day.
If you treat yourself to a room with a balcony, all you will want to do is open the French Doors to enjoy the night scenes of the French Quarter and Market area. Sit back and forget about the day's worries ahead, the FQI, as you can see has what you need and then some. Some of their suites come complete with a fireplace and a Jacuzzi available for relaxing after a hard day of business or pleasure in Charleston.
To further your relaxing suite experience, choose from several different pillows selections from a menu. From buckwheat to down, sleeping is "made to order" at the FQI.
Each one of the suites has a spacious bathroom that is fit for a king. Since the property is new, you'll find all of the modern features that you would expect from a European five star property. A wrought iron stand with soft heavy all cotton towels will be found right next to the bathtub and all of the best shampoos and soaps from Gilchrist and Soames East Product line can be found right on the counter. Add the checkered patterned floor and vibrant brown and tan wallpaper, marble countertops, vanity mirrors and hairdryer, with all of this, the look is completely European.
Not only will guests have the best amenities in the hotel, they can take a quick walk downstairs and visit Tristan, the Hotel's Four Diamond Restaurant. Even with 40 or more restaurants within walking distance, Tristan can not be missed. It was so rewarding, we brought to you in a separate feature. To see that feature, just click here, to see what your dining experience will bring, you'll, be glad you did!
As you rise each morning, guests will have the option in the morning to have the European Continental Breakfast delivered to your room a time of your choice at no additional charge, or if you prefer to wait until your up and ready, stroll through the lobby and pick up a cup of coffee, a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice and your continental breakfast at that time. Once again, the French Quarter Inn caters to make your experience at the Hotel the best found anywhere in Charleston.
If you have traveled to Charleston on business, you might want to consider the French Quarter Inn for your next meeting. While they do not want a large group occupying all of their rooms at one time, they certainly have some of the most modern meeting facilities we have seen in any hotel. The French Quarter Inn has 1250 square feet of meeting, executive boardroom and banquet space supported by state of the art audiovisual equipment and 24 hour fax/copy services.
Since we have given you everything you might need to know before you come to the French Quarter Inn, we hope that you will get to enjoy each and every part of the hotel. There is a lot too take in here, but for what you pay for the average room elsewhere, the French offers much more for your money. There is something here for everyone. From business travelers to the weekend warriors, we will make it simple for you, "If you can't find it at the French Quarter Inn, you probably do not need it."
